Oglethorpe Power Company wins Marketer of the Year Award
The Atlanta Chapter of the American Marketing Association presented Oglethorpe Power with a bronze award in the �Maverick� category of this year�s AMY Awards for the Corporation�s production of the video, �Walk This Way Too�.

The AMYs, or Atlanta Marketer of the Year Awards, were presented to the year�s most outstanding marketing efforts spanning categories that included video, audio, print, web-based, and integrated campaigns. The award was accepted by Yvonne Jordan; OPC�s of Director, Corporate Communications and Michelle Simmons, P.E. and Member Services Coordinator. The concept for the video was created by Ms. Simmons and Ms. Jordan, video taped by James Corn of Camera Works, and edited by Walter Biscardi of Biscardi Creative Media.

The entries - more than 75 strong � were judged earlier this month by a team of AMA leaders from around the country, and were awarded in a ceremony October 28th at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Buckhead.

The AMY Awards are a celebration of excellence and effectiveness in marketing programs. Distinctly different than other award programs that focus only on creative execution, the AMY Awards also recognize the importance of precisely defined goals, strategic insight, exceptional execution and relevant measurement systems.

OPC and �Walk This Way Too� competed against some relatively high-profile companies and campaigns. Other AMY winners included: LeBron James PowerAde promotion; Georgia-Pacific; Bellsouth; General Motor�s �ChevyEssence� Promotion; and The Peace Corps� �Life is Calling� campaign.
