High Schoolers pitch in on documentary project

Recently Nicole had a chance to visit with Lanier High School located just down the road from Biscardi Creative headquarters to check in on an animation the CDAT students are creating for an upcoming documentary.Yep, these are high school students working on 3D Studio Max creating a real world project thanks to a collaboration between BCM Principal Walter Biscardi, Jr. and CDAT teacher Mike Reilly. After touring the facility, seeing the tools these students had at hand and more importantly, their passion and skill level, Biscardi turned the kids loose on this project. Lanier2That model on the right was completely designed by the kids and it’s fully animatable. Instead of just working on a class assignment, these students are creating something that will be part of a documentary premiering on PBS in the Fall of 2013. That’s one of Mike Reilly’s goals, expose the students to real-world projects instead of just made up assignments.A very proud Mike Reilly and some awesome students who are knocking it out of the park. We’ll have more details about the project in the coming months but we just had to share how incredibly proud we are of the students and the effort they’re putting forth. If these guys are any indication, the future of our craft is in very good hands.
