As a follow up to my previous entry about Final Share SAN, without going into details, the fastest Mac Pros have issues with ethernet connections. In a nutshell, they hang and disconnect, especially during bi-directional traffic. Such as when using Compressor to read from a SAN and then render back to that SAN.
We have three Mac Pros and 1 iMac all working on our shop on the Final Share SAN and the newest, 2.93 Octo Core is incredibly unstable when using the SAN which is all ethernet based.
Now it’s up to Apple to address and fix this issue.
