“Regular ProRes ia 8bit and HQ is 10bit” is the WRONG INFORMATION I see all the time. In a nutshell…

ProRes is designed to optimize 8bit material which the 90% of all video material shot. ProRes is the codec we use for all our 720 and 1080 material in our shop.

ProRes HQ is designed for 10bit originated material which is generally 2K or larger.
