| Biscardi Creative Media is proud to announce the production of our first independent short film. Developed by Cheryl Collins and Walter Biscardi, Jr., the project is tentatively titled The Rough Cut. Producer / Writer, Collins proposed the idea in the summer of 2004. Cheryl told me about this idea that would make a really great short story, notes Biscardi. We worked it out into a full script and set to work planning out the production. The movie will also serve as an HDTV test for Biscardi Creative Media. W.H. Platts Company has come on board as a sponsor of the project and will donate the services of a Panasonic Varicam HD camera, player / recorder and accessories. Producing the film in true High Definition, 24p with the Panasonic Varicam will really let us achieve a cinematic look, said Biscardi. David Strupp at Platts has been working with us for a while now pulling all the technical elements together. Canon is also sponsoring the film and will provide the use of cinema lenses for the project. Biscardi is thrilled to have Canon on board. "We tested their CinePrime lenses a few months ago and they are just amazing. The Varicam camera is incredible on its own, but add these Canon lenses to the mix and you're just totally shooting a film, cinematic look." Heading the production team is Cheryl Collins, a Telly Award winning Producer at the North American Mission Board in Alpharetta. Collins produces documentary features and promotional videos for the organization. Writing a script about the choices we make in life really appealed to me. Our main character must either live in regret or change her future. Its a universal concept we all deal with, said Collins. Walter Biscardi, Jr., whose many credits include multiple Emmy awards, will Direct the project. Biscardi has produced and directed hundreds of projects for both broadcast and independent clients, but this will be his first film project. Clay Walker, Plan B Productions, has signed on as Director of Photography. Clay was my first and really only choice for D.P. on this picture. His work is outstanding and I wanted his wealth of experience on the set, especially for our first film. In addition Grammy-nominated composer, Jayne Olderman, has signed on to compose the music score. Jayne and I have collaborated on projects for years and its a treat to work together again. Im thrilled to have her on board and we already have an original song in the pipeline for the project. Said Biscardi. Biscardi Creative recently upgraded their Post Facility in preparation for several HD projects in 2005. We knew there would more projects coming down the pipe with the Panasonic formats in 2005, so we have added the AJA Kona 2 board to our main HD editing suite. This card is a perfect complement to the format and to uncompressed HD as well. said Biscardi. Plans call for casting to be held on January 22nd and the film to be shot in and around Gwinnett County, Georgia over 5 days in February and March 2005. A rough cut of the film should be ready for debut at NAB 2005 in April. The final cut should be ready by the end of May where it will be submitted for various film festivals around the United States.
