DIGITAL MEDIA TRANSFERS & ASSET MANAGEMENT | technology keeps propelling us towards a tapeless future but you may have a catalog of media that holds years of media and company history. Without transfer to a digital format before the tape machines disappear, that footage will be lost forever. BCM has many of the tape formats in house so can transfer your wealth of media to digital formats.

Tape to File transfer for a single project: If you need to ingest tape formats for a project but don’t have the machines, we’ll gladly capture the footage to your format of choice and deliver the files and tapes back to you.

Media Library Digital Media Transfer and Management: BCM will transfer all of your tape based media to digital format, transfer to both hard drive and LTO for long term archival storage. Client has the option to have all media returned for client based archiving or take advantage of BCM’s full archive services including the maintaining of your footage in our library, full cataloging of the footage and retrieval / distribution of your footage to third parties as needed.

Rates are set by the time length of each tape captured, not by the format. So a 60 minute DV transfer is the same price as a 60 minute DVCPro HD transfer. It’s all digital files to us so the format is irrelevant. While BCM has most tape format machines in-house, rental rates will apply to those machines we will have to rent.

In addition, we can convert your footage to HD during the transfer. Since we’re transferring it anyway, we can convert the footage, in realtime, to 720p or 1080 HD during the process. It’s a minimal charge to convert the footage during the transfer.

If requested, we can also include a reduced size file (proxy) with timecode window burn to allow you to review the materials on practically any computer. We can also provide copies on DVD or BluRay disc.
